We still want a way to do quoted highlights without creating two notes, so we will likely have a comment tag or something

Why avoid the two notes? I think, for the most part, the atomicity of nostr event makes for better composition; I also might want to share a highlight that I found but not necessarily the highlighter’s comment; is it just to avoid having two events?

the main issue is that they would both appear next to each other in peoples deeds when you do a quote highlight. Every client would have to do special timeline filtering unique only to this situation just to fix this

Also, adding comments while highlighting is such a common thing, i don’t see why we wouldn’t just add it as a tag. It’s backwards compatible and opt in, doesn’t require and crazy timeline filtering logic, etc. why is two notes so important for such a common operation?
