What does your religion give you?

Jesus doesn't just give us the will to resist temptation, but takes away our sins, Amen.
Which sin did he take away from you personally?
If it's too personal, don't answer 😉
A higher authority than the government
shouldn't the highest authority be you and your own judgement?
Like dust in the wind?
is your opinion of yourself that low?
If an atheist thinks anything other than that, they are engaging in magical thinking. Outwardly pretending to be an atheist while unconsciously using spirit to stay in the game. Nihilism is the final and only destination for all honest atheists
I don't think so.
We all die and will become your "dust in the wind", but that doesn't mean that we can't be remembered for what we have said or done. Even a long time after we're gone. There are thousands of examples (good and bad tho) that humanity will remember for a long time.
"Our voices are opened graves, through which the never dead escape."
Nihilism antidote
Interesting, but you don't need religion to value knowledge or morals (tho the definition might differ).
The biggest religion in the world gives some the ability to rob and coerce others to do their will.
Its central dogma is that once its priests - otherwise ordinary and even subaverage individuals - undergo a certain set of concocted, contrived rituals, they magically acquire godlike powers that they previously never had and neither did any of the followers of that religion.
The followers also benefit by exercising those powers to coerce and loot other followers through the priests of that religion.
