Would a contribution as small as a Bitaxe fall above a threshold that gets you regular payouts?

Yep, I reckon some people are doing precisely that: receiving some sats every day/few days from #bitaxe pool mining.
I get about 150sats a day with 4 #bitaxes, dayli payout.
On-chain payouts: not a chance. This is why you need lightning payouts.
