The Freedom Party, which received the most votes in the last Austrian elections, will be excluded from the government after three center-right and left-wing parties agreed on a coalition government.

The Freedom Party was founded in the 1950s by former members of the Nazi Party and is therefore strongly associated with extremism and fascism. Despite this, it secured 28% of the vote in the last election thanks to an anti-immigration and anti-Islam agenda.
