I didn’t say it was well intentioned, did I! The problem is still here and we can’t deny that. It took me scrolling through 10 screens to get to you reply. Your relay maybe we suited to protect against this simple spam, but none of the other relays are not out of the box. The problem is still here and users are still annoyed and may decide to leave. 🐶🐾🫡

Just to clarify - filter is actually at massive disadvantage compared to the public relays because we do not see the network fingerprint of the spammer. It should be considerably easier for the relays directly facing the spam.

But I am kinda dumb. I have no clue how to do that with my present relays.

Nonsense! Not intelligence of course, just some networking know how and time spent in the trenches fighting script kiddies in my other projects hahaha.

Do you have a public relay that’s currently being spammed? Perhaps I could look at it.
