Slavery is to work and have most of your effort for handed over to someone else under compulsion of the state.

The income tax compels you to work directly for the state.

Slaves are property in captivity compelled by force to work on whatever their owners choose - there’s nothing to tax. Citizens are free to not work or move away, but if you choose to stay, you gotta pay the “protection racket” tax. It sucks, but it ain’t in the same ballpark as slavery.

You think slaves will be assigned to do things they aren't good at? Working for money, then the government using your money for whatever they want, is in effect no different than being forced to perform some specific task.

This is like when sports dude compares football to war, it’s just not war. I get that taxes suck, but it’s not slavery, come on snap out of it man.

Apples and oranges.

Football v.s. war: game v.s. reality.

Taxes v.s. slavery: both take the firstfruits of your labor.
