At least 20 Palestinians seeking food aid at the newest distribution hub opened by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation in Bureij, central Gaza, were shot and wounded by Israeli forces firing live bullets as they approached on Salah al-Din Street.
Doctors at Al-Awda Hospital and Al-Aqsa Hospital reported treating patients with serious and life-threatening injuries.
In a separate incident, Israeli snipers shot and wounded another Palestinian near Rafah as he approached one of the two other distribution points located farther south.
Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum reports this is “becoming part of a grim pattern repeated every morning” under the new Israeli-U.S. aid distribution scheme.
Gaza’s government media office described the system as: “The establishment of ‘isolation ghettos’ and forced assembly lines amid the threat of death and starvation. It does not express a genuine humanitarian intention. Rather, it embodies a racist political engineering aimed at dismantling Palestinian society, perpetuating its suffering, and providing a false humanitarian cover for the occupation’s security and military agendas.”
