Dictatorships might be brutal, but they get shit done.

No time wasted on elections and campaign and the shitshow that comes with it (bribes, lobbying, etc.).
Tyrants are in it for the long term (not 4 years). The incentive structure is aligned to at least make it better for themselves and their offsprings. Win win.
And if they philander enough, most the country is their offspring.
