Serious questions:

Couldn't individual nodes just refuse to process those transactions?

And how would you make a node runner register with the state if their node is behind a Tor hidden service?

Yes, in the sense that Taro only works on LND lol, but no in the sense that I believe htlc paths are onion routed, but that's Bitcoin htlcs. Don't know how Taro works in depth
