If I remember right that was implemented because there wasn’t really another good web viewer at the time. There are a few now. Maybe it should be njump links instead?

It was for sharing posts outside of Nostr. If something is sharing a note in Nostr they shouldn’t use a web link anyway. Just tag the note

Depends on the client as to how you do it. Some you can just paste the note ID into your note, and others you need to put an @-symbol before it. Like this below. I’ll screenshot it too so you see what I typed:
