Ugh. Just let folks delete and put up a warning that there is now way to be sure that every relay will honor the request.
It works. If we pretend delete doesn’t exist on Nostr because we’re all a bit on the spectrum and really in to being 100% rules following accurate then we’ll scare away people we want to use Nostr.
