We have two kids at home due to schools being under staffed. Teachers are sick... Mean time we're paying 30% more this year to last year for the kids' education while my pay risise was 5%

It's not that you just call in and say you are sick. You have to go to a doctor and get a "Arbeitsunfähigkeitsbescheinigung".
And as if 1000 Euro would be worth more than health? I don't think so. But the 1000 could lead to fakers not faking that they are sick.
