despite all the hatred about wbtc, i found out that wbtc is now natively available on osmosis chain. apart from the fact that osmosis chain has low gas fees, osmosis also allow using wbtc to pay for transactions. as osmosis is widely available on multiple cexes and dexes and people dont complain when they used custodian LN-btc solution, may be a good idea to intergrate osmosis-wbtc on nostr

good point - simply find amount of BTC residing outside mainnet staggering - mainly bc using mainnet is such pain for non-tech small spending / transfers - will be careful osmo or anychain where ordinary user cannot host node themselves. any bridge based wrapping single point of failure. unless terndermint using NATIVE chain swap like LND. but users get distracted by things like binance/coinbase visa cards / earning interest / dumb things like that show as carrot. cashu / liquid BTC are better option
there were one. nomic-btc (nbtc). it is trustless using taproot. but to me the bitgo official wbtc on osmosis is more stable and has better volume
