Do you think Hedgehog has a chance to supplant Lightning? It seems like the more efficient technical solution.
It definitely seems promising, but I admittedly need to spend more time deep-diving on it! Good idea for a future video.
I do think in general people underestimate the network effect and momentum that already exists with the Lightning Network so while anything is possible I suspect “supplant” is likely too strong even if Hedgehog proves technically superior, and it would be more likely to see some Hedgehog-like tech built in as a new BOLT eventually.

Hedgehog functionality built in as a BOLT would be great. Lightning is close, I think another 5 years of Network development / capitalization / adoption and it’ll be the optimal fast payments L2. Cashu could end up the optimal fast / private payments L3.
Feels like by 2030 and the L1-L3 stack will be ready to handle global usage at scale.
