Our property is over run with bill thistle in spring. Do you harvest it and use it medicinally? I’ve thought about it but have never made the time or had the direct need.
Apparently it’s not native to USA but it is ever present. It might take over there world someday! 😅
i think after a nuclear war, it will be giant bull thistles and giant cockroaches 🪳
i use a bush scythe to clear areas of black berry and thistle.
the ones i harvest, i do in the same way as nettle. cut the base with the scythe, and then pull a couple out using thick leather gloves. the nettles i let dry, with the bull thistle i cut the leaves off with scissors, then individually cut the spines of either side so the center of the leaf is left. i dry those and store them for tea.
