I hate hoodies. They are useless in really cold weather anyway.

I would love to have a woolen one like the ones the hobbits have in LOTR, traditional cape style, with actually decent coverage around the neck.

That jacket in the OP has a good thick neck on it, that's the most important thing cos that's the most thermal-loss part of the upper body. Taller collars than that can be even better. The other thing you need in the cold is protection around your ears.
