Cloudflare's public dns resolver was down. Should be fixed now. Can check on cloudflarestatus.com
it's usually a good idea if you are gonna use 1.1.1.1 to also use google's one, i forget the number. something about 8s and 4s, as a secondary backup
i personally use namecheap's DNS servers because i also run several domains with them and it's pretty good actually.
but this is kinda hilarious... i think this is cloudflare's third major outage in under 12 months
