Hi everyone. Just started my Nostr account after wanting to move to a decentralised twitter alternative. Tech Oligarchy is a big threat to society and we need to pursue and support decentralised alternatives like Nostr.

I don’t know what’s the use of wallet here or what a zap is as of now. I’m totally new to Nostr so need to do my fair bit and understand how things work here.
Hello and welcome to nostr. The best part about nostr is that it is more than a Twitter clone… sure it has a couple apps that resemble Twitter, but Nostr is an alternative to the worldwide web where you get on different apps that do different stuff from blogging and marketplaces, to streaming, gaming, and file sharing. Since everything is done on the protocol level, unlike legacy platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and twitch; you take your data and followers to every app on nostr.
It sounds brilliant in theory and I know Nostr is still young. Would like to see how it all builds up and develops into fine tuned platforms for us to engage with the way we’ve been accustomed to with social media
