Even the most prominent members of the establishment fight among themselves for power.

You're looking for people really hated by the establishment? Look for non-politicians. Edward Snowden, Julian Assange, Ross Ulbricht, Aaron Schwartz, etc

Now we are going to have to define "establishment" to resolve this. That's too tedius for me.

Of course he has power that the whistleblowers at the bottom haven't got.
