I was just about out of my homemade toothpaste, so just whipped up another batch. Love this stuff.
Remineralizing Toothpaste
5 parts calcium carbonate
1 part diatomaceous earth
2 parts baking soda
3-5 parts coconut oil
1 part turmeric
Optional: essential oil (i like peppermint)

This is smooth. Mine came out chunky bcoz the coconut hardened. Next time I go low on coco.

Is it because you refrigerate it maybe? No need to refrigerate, all ingredients are shelf stable .
I don't. Winter has passed, perhaps the summer will regulate the beaver.
