Does amethyst auto block people?

I'm getting a pretty weird behavior in Garnet with regard to a certain npub, I guess some specific person replied to something I said, I went to see it and he shows as blocked though I've never encpuntered him. When I go back to my notifications, his reply is gone. When I unblock, then go refresh, it shows blocked again. When I search the npub in primal using the same nsec, it's not blocked. When I search in Garnet using a different nsec, it's also blocked. If I follow it won't show as blocked.

I don't know if this is a bug or if amethyst is shadow blocking people in the client. Does anyone know anything about this?

Really fucky shit, either some weird bug or amethyst is censoring npubs.

Alright man. Look, you can just accept how youre viewed by the world and if you like who you are, who cares? I'm nobody to you. Bringing attention to the fact that you're in a client side spam filter for the largest mobile nostr client and therefore limiting your voice is a very nice thing I've done. Maybe look to the positives.

As far as the schizo thing, I checked out your website(s?) and I'm seeing no explanation at all about what any of it actually is about, a download for a zip file with an explanation that is an unintelligible screenshot with a link in it. A link, that I can't click, because it's in a screenshot. Another one on another screenshot about a cypher table links to an archive of a page on your site, again, in a screenshot, presumably the page you archived is still up on your server?

If youre actually trying to teach people about something that seems to be very important, it would be helpful if the information was actually navigable and intelligible. Smart people don't download zip files from sites where they can't glean an ounce of information about whatever it is you're on about.

I'd really like to understand what it is you're on about on your site man. What is cybertorture? What does the zip file do?

fyi I'm a relative noob on #nostr understanding inputs/outpus/code etc. And I'm one of the world's worst oldest coders (sole contribution: 1 x BASH script which ended up as the #LinuxInstaller #wipe #fulldiskencrypt options at install runtime.; the script that created that (without the uersinterface/GUI).

My own testing shows around 15-17% of messages get out when they censor me/if they're censoring me at any one point in time. My hack atm of that is to sometimes have only one option (I can find atm); broadcast (I'm in/on #coracle interface (web). this end. Plus I'm dealing with the 'other issues already I've tried to send out to you' (and currently waiting to see if the messages get through ... I've found a solution OR A PROBLEM (???) atm for the team at/or us against (I hope not latter):

FYI and to help #hackthetorture ... if that is what this is #cybertorture (not just a bug/ban somewhere in the code/nodedecisionmakers etc; see the problem my end (I'm been getting endless problems my end for quite some time and that's publicly expressed in the number of duplicates that keep getting published in consequence. https://ibb.co/9VVvDsq

Working on the prob my end now gets me to realise these seem to be endless NULL "" (and thus void?) requests I'm being forced to send out all the time (by clicking the authorise (otherwise the message doesn't appear at all #censorshipsucceeds #911perptakedown etc). If any node/relay/app (I now realise thanks to your message forcing me to spend time on this hacking bit) is recieving endless void (empty) messages from me that IS likely the cause (?)

I will check my end next if this:

So, looking at open issues in amethyst, it appears they have a really messy spam filtering system.

Apparently there's your blocked list, a "spammer" list that shows empty but actually has npubs in it that are blocked that you can't unblock unless following, a check box for warning you when your followers reported someone you encounter, and a check box to filter spam from strangers.

Somehow, there is hidden block list built into amethyst that you can't see, and the details of how accounts wind up there are really not well explained anywhere, but appear to be from other amethyst users reporting npubs, in some cases from any user and in others only your follows.
