The nostr vs. podcasting 2.0 battle is a necessary one for determining the future of censorship-free distribution of music, information, and data.

In an odd way, I selfishly hope both sides win. Then we all do.

can you elaborate?

They both serve similar, albeit different purposes. One seeks to upgrade podcast experiences (and uncensorability via the podcast index) while the other is a decentralized comms protocol that almost anything can be built on. We realistically need them both to succeed.

I’ve been a podcasting 2.0 and V4V proponent and participant from the beginning and I also love nostr. They can integrate well, but I know many of the main devs on either don’t necessarily see it that way

Both groups just want to send sats to people.

PC 2.0 really just wants more options like nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm that we can switch between to use in apps like nostr:npub1t8cmt7hjnyz0a99x5ppw9kpdsrtglst26aj3aw5s4r0rna3l3l5qk89gm4

We’re all fighting for the same thing. No reason for one side to be so hostile 🤷‍♂️
