Idk Jeff Bezos' parents were not very wealthy. Also at what point do you become self made? If you 1000x the wealth of your parents in your lifetime that is pretty self made.

Miguel Bezos was an engineer, and manager at ExxonMobil, and he gave Jeff Bezos a $250,000 loan in 1994 (approximately worth $500,000 today).
Miguel Bezos Dad was also a lumber business man in Cuba before Fidel took over but Miguel started over from scratch because of Fidel.
So I would say had Miguel Bezos dad been able to keep his business then Jeff's adopted grandfather would be a self made man instead of Miguel but Miguel started from $0 also.
But Jeff's biological dad, also was a small business owner, which is technically self-made but I feel like it's not as impressive tbh as starting from $0 in a new country.
Jeff Bezos had a stable economic position which benefited him in a manner that allowed him to take risks other people might have not been able to.
