it doesn't go away. anyone can mine to that address with or without datum
savings in fees applies to all new shares starting the moment you start with datum. prior shares submitted before continue having the non-DATUM fee
In practice: over the next week you'll notice your fees slowly drop from 2% to 1%. It doesn't happen immediately as that's not how TIDES works. Payouts are based on a rolling window.
