Nos.social definitely uses relays, what do you mean? 
some clients dont give you freedom to choose. others feign that choice but still send to a minimum set of relays ( such as coracle.social). a good example is 0xChat, amethyst and i believe nostur actually will only send to the relays youve given permission to write. nostrudel too.
We do show you when you receive zaps if you associate a ln wallet with your profile. We aren’t opposed to more support but it’ll never be our focus. There are tons of great nostr apps for bitcoiners.
This is a perfect way for Nos to work, IMO. There are enough Bitcoin-averse people who would still make for good Nostriches, and having a way to onboard those friends and colleagues without needing to answer an exhausting set of criticisms of Bitcoin can be a plus.
Indeed there are many Bitcoin-friendly clients. As adoption grows, i would expect Bitcoin to be built into more and more apps (on nostr as well as other regular apps). That’ll be organic/gradual then sudden/whatev, it’s working.
Nostr was revolutionary before we started zapping, and I’m glad to be able to recommend an excellent client that puts the “communication revolution” piece of Nostr front and center 🤝
