Contrarian take

The “crypto” industry’s promise of “the next Bitcoin” is a major attracting force, bringing in new people. A significant number of them will start by buying (and losing money on) shitcoins, but in the meantime they will fall down the Bitcoin rabbit hole.

How many of us got here in a similar way?

I was green but excited to learn. I was lucky to have had enough influences point me in the right direction, that I didn’t waste too much time or money on “crypto” before I built a strong foundational understanding of why bitcoin

Grateful every day for that

For reals mate 🫂, if the foundation is shaky so Is everything else. Honestly was kind of blessing as it served as a wake up call. Since then and after reading that book everything has gone well, nothing but blessings.

Fwiw, I’m not apologizing for shitcoinery. The scammers who launch all the tokens are snake oil salesmen, through and through.

But I have a lot of compassion for (and can relate to) the newbie who wants to improve their financial situation, and learns through trial and error that bitcoin is the way

The real contrarian take is that currency competition is the only way to have better currency.

Some bitcoiners seem to think that everything that is not Bitcoin should not exist, and that differs a lot from Bitcoin being unique.
