So you mean I will either need to set up Alby Hub or keep my current node for zaps?

Yes, I would suggest keeping your current node for zaps with one channel from Eclair. I am planning to write a secure wallet for eclair and secure middle API to allow for it

I do want to try Alby Hub just out of curiosity but I’ll plan to keep my current node for a while.

You can connect AH to LND as a backend
