I have been beseeched to read it before. I have the manga and anime downloaded, but man is it long. I haven't gotten last the first chapter.
Me and my buddy binged watched the live action version on Netflix… neither one of use has watched the anime or read the manga…
So the live action is pretty decent, but they get a lot of really important details, very wrong, that lessen the emotional impact of the particular scene. And they also fuck up the flow of the story to make it a little bit more cinematic or easier to adapt to TV.
But at the end of the day, the show has Oda's blessing and oversight, so I'm just kind of being a nitpicky fan.
It’s very apparent that it’s different than the manga/anime for sure… (considering I haven’t seen either lol)
