Problem: unit bias makes people buy shitcoins
One of the reasons people keep buying shitcoins is because they think Bitcoin is too expensive and that shitcoins are cheaper.
They see a shitcoin and think they can get a "whole" shitcoin but they can't afford a whole Bitcoin.
Newcomers think they are getting something discounted or cheap when they are really just buying something that is massively diluted.
### What is a wholecoin anyway?
The decimal place in Bitcoin was placed in the centre (of the maximum number of digits) in order to provide maximum flexibility - the same number of digits each side of the decimal. Visually, it looks like this: 00000000.00000000
Nothing in the Bitcoin implememtation uses decimal places when computing values, the decimal is purely thematic and added after-the-fact when displaying amounts to the user. It exists for psychological reasons, not technical reasons.
### The solution to unit bias:
The place where most people go to see the prices of Bitcoin and shitcoins is coinmarketcap. We need to get people to put pressure on them to change the unit from wholecoins to sats.
The simplest place to start is probably by spreading this petition around: https://www.change.org/chancellor-on-brink
