Of course.

You can hold your own keys to open/close LN Channels. It is exactly #Bitcoin.

On the other hands, you can't hold your own keys for Peg-in/Peg-out.

(* I don't mean L-BTC keys)

These bring fundamentally huge difference.

but L-btc is more portable because it got same self custody property like onchain. LN lacks backup and portability.
