Community Spirits, 16th and College, Indianapolis. Autumn 2012. The neighborhood had already changed a lot when this photograph was taken with a 4x5 view camera. My good friend Brian and I ran around in this area, 2007-2009, as developers starting buying up cheap abandoned properties, renovating, and constructing new housing. This liquor store was the spot to get obscure malt liquors and odd brand shitty beer. I never felt that safe here, but Brian, the Prince of 16th Street, was an addict. His status gave me a pass to be there. We were accosted some nights. Lookouts would shout at us, calling us white boys, saying it was past our bedtimes and to go home to momma. Dealers and robbers would be out, posted up on corners. Wild times.

Found you from the # search and your shot stood out.

💜🙏🏻 that's awesome, I miss 4x5. I'm mostly digital these days, but I have a strong desire to shoot some 35mm or 120. Always happy to see fellow photogs on here!
