Previous owners were legit doomsday cult who got shut down for stockpiling ammo and detonators. The place has everything a paranoid schizo could ever ask for.
Part of me thinks it's a stupid idea, but it's the right kind of stupid.
It's a fantastic idea IMO.
So do I. I mean, I'm choosing to present it here in a sensationalist way, but I'm excited at the possibility of starting some sort of community. We haven't worked out how far off-grid we want to go just yet, but we'll have plenty of farm land. The place has self-contained private residences too, so it needn't be too cultish.
Where in the world is this place?
It’s something I have been looking at with a few friends. We have looked at islands and remote locations around the world. The more ambitious locations require a ton of planning and resources though.
It's in South Australia, about 40km south of Adelaide right next to one of the more famous Australian wine regions. It's a really nice spot and I have no doubt I'll ever see an opportunity like this again.
