It cuts both ways though. As people write to social media, sure, they hand information to the government for free. But as people read from social media, they get a true picture of what society is thinking and wrest free of the government and media manipulations.

Interesting concept! I would say this could be true to Nostr, but less likely to be true for company controlled social media.
