Agree, but you need at least one user to follow to get that “friends of friends” network rolling. So at least recommend some “safe” and big accounts

I don’t even think “following users” is an ideal entry point. Especially since it’s very likely you don’t even know these people.

Topics of interest would be better. Or even starting with any content you already know and branch out from there. I’m sketching this out for highlighter, but I feel like it’s appropriate for Microblogging clients as well.
