1971 and counting. The problem is older than I am. Capitalism as we've imagined it in this vapid hellscape could never survive Bitcoin adoption.

Yes.. in part

Pure capitalism does indeed lead to monopolies. Lobbying just facilitates monopolization even further to the extent that companies can monopolize without ever having any real value as a corporation. Google has failed at every turn with products and services, but they've held a monopoly on our data, and that's how they've maintained their grip.

The crazy thing to me is the power anyone who spies domestically will have, especially if they collect particularly salacious information about elected officials. That goes for NSA equally to Google/Apple/Microsoft.
