Paid an arborist to take a tree out of my yard earlier. It was an old, beautiful elm, but it was rotting. We had a storm this weekend, and the way it was moving in the wind made me realize keeping it was a danger to my kids, who sleep on that end of the house. My son is super sad about losing it, but this is what happens to trees what threaten my kids.

You keeping the wood?

I sort of wanted to, but decided against it. Elm is hardwood, so it's super dense and hard to split. It also smolders for like 2 days after a fire too, unless you douse it really well.

Get a sick table made!

Ah that's a good call, but I don't need more projects right now 😂

Just put it to season for a few years. You’ll have time in the future. My dad is building with wood he put away 15 years ago right now.

That's super cool, maybe I will
