Saw someone post that they couldn’t get zapped, and they asked if anyone knew how they could set that up. Here are 2 options:

Option A:

1) Install Wallet of Satoshi app

2) Copy WoS lightning address from app and paste into Nostr profile settings

3) Enjoy zapping!

4) If your balance gets large, install Muun wallet app and send some sats from WoS to Muun for safer storage

Option B:

1) Setup Bitcoin node (wait for IBD)

2) Setup lightning node (optionally connect Zeus app to node)

3) Buy enough bitcoin to open channels with sufficient liquidity to send/receive your payments

4) Open lightning channels

5) Setup lightning address server

6) Buy web domain

7) Reverse proxy domain to lightning address server

8) Configure NIP-57 support

9) Paste newly created lightning address into Nostr profile settings

10a) Enjoy zapping!

10b) Properly manage your inbound/outbound channel liquidity

There are actually people on here shaming others for suggesting people use Option A instead of B 😂

There is one problem with nip-57. The key the signs zap notes must be whitelisted on the recipient’s relay! So, my suggestion, after ton of tries, is to use WoS and move funds back and forth between your node and zap wallet! 🐶🐾🫡

I don’t doubt self-custodial options for zaps will get better and easier. But until they do, this is a good enough approach for most people.
