The entirety of Mullvad is not operated with 0 persistence. The VPN traffic has temporary persistence in RAM and account & credit is probably stored in a database, either permanently or temporary.

Right, that's what I was wondering about. I guess to minimize the risk of being associated with that account number people should switch accounts fairly often.

Get a new account number each time, visit their website using the TOR onion url, pay with bitcoin.
