Libertarianism is geography and time specific. Communist parties in the early 20th century fought against fascism and there were blurry lines between labor movements, communism, and socialism, they were motivated by values and I wouldn’t compare those communist party movements to whatever we think of today with China, state totalitarianism, etc. but libertarianism was a lot closer to leftist movements such as communism, socialism, etc during that time than whatever self described US libertarians consider themselves today. A healthy approach is looking at different values, ideas, theories and not feeling the need to cling for dear life to one in particular.

Libertarian and progressive for instance are insanely broad terms and can be interpreted in various ways. I think that’s healthy and ok!

The desire to label everything and place everyone into a rigid box is what causes the most division. One can be a diehard bitcoiner and still champion the values of economic or social justice. This is how we bring more people in, not by insulting them or saying things about them that aren’t true. People should try listening more and soapboxing less.
