Yes. It seems strange to me to say no because when I am who I am how can my goals not align with who I am and what I want?

Maybe they don't align with who I want to be in the future. But that was not the question, right?

In that case, you „are who you are“ but might be missing out to pursue other goals, which your „inside-you“ is trying to tell you?! ….

Okay. Legit. But then still you could say that your goal is to be like that other person. So when talking about intrinsic motivations one is always himself even when trying to be like someone else.
