It's usually better to carry a convenient means of exchange that's nearly universally accepted. (The "gold-pressed latinum" IIRC from ST.)
our human premise is that you don't believe that they will give you what you want just on a word (which is sick). and that 3rd party who issues the money won't fuck you up insted of the direct transaction party.
