You're probably not that far off. People generally treating the plane like a public bus ride doesn't help with the overall quality of experience, and could eat into profits indirectly

The whole attitude and culture of our society has changed. Religion plays a big part in that. People from the bottom to the top are far too driven by usury and materialistic/monetary goals rather then higher values.
