The assholes at Vultr decided to ban me yesterday.
They asked for explanations of what I used my server for and when I said "nostr" they just told me to get the fuck out.
They gave me 12 hours to access my data and migrate all my dozens of relays and services. All while treating me like a fucking criminal.
I searched for an AI to help me migrate all my stuff and found this Warp tool that is pretty damn good.
It came up with a single one linger to deploy my strfry instances, do strfry db migration, configure HTTP server, everything! I can even tell it "hey, setup blossom on blossom.f7z.io and only allow my pubkey to upload stuff"
Damn fucking wild.
A lifetime ago, I used to be a sysops at a hosting company. Migrating this much stuff would have taken me about a week of fighting old package versions, database migrations, updating configurations.
Now I literally gave root access to an LLM to help me out and it literally did it extremely well. The setup it accomplished is already better than my very ad-hoc deployment I had in my previous server.

Very bad.
"They have been charging me 18% GST since 2 yrs, however, they have not paid taxes to the Indian Government. When I asked them to send the tax invoices, they ignored me, when i asked for the refund of the taxes collected, they refused to refund. "Vultr is a huge gamble. The servers are somewhat fast, but they're really not. The staff are utterly unhelpful, you can ask a simple question and they will spew out a long irrelevant reply, almost as if its an AI just signing human names. I simply asked for a concise yes/no for a very basic question, and they proceed to list this huge list of irrelevant resources and guides. The deploy page is such a labyrinth, making it much more complicated than it has to be. They will charge you more than you used and rip you off. While it may be good for power efficient things, at that point, just host it yourself. Everything is portrayed to be extremely professional, but it's really not."

I had an absolutely terrible experience with Vultr, and I strongly advise everyone to stay away from this scam company. Their customer service is non-existent, and their platform is misleading. They promise services, but once you add your credit card, they charge you without providing any actual instance or service.
In my case, they charged me $68 without reason, and after contacting my bank, it was proven to be financial fraud. Despite repeated attempts to reach out to their support team, I received no response or resolution. I wasted hours trying to get my money back, but their team either ignored my complaints or gave generic, unhelpful responses.
It’s clear that Vultr is running a shady operation with unfair billing practices. They take your money without delivering the promised service and leave you stranded. I wouldn’t trust them with any personal or financial information.
If you’re considering Vultr, please think twice—there are far more reliable and trustworthy alternatives out there. Save yourself the frustration and avoid this fraudulent company at all costs!"
