Its a light grey/silver ASUS N551JK-MH71, circa 2015. Check out this backlit keyboard.

Thats like full size. Im having to adjust a little as I was used to typing on the narrow compact style. Good thing is CTRL key and FN are in the right spot, proper placement of Backspace/Pipe/Enter keys, Inverted T and full vertical Num Pad. The only things that bug me is the slightly smaller inverted T, and placement of Pause, Print Screen, Delete, Home, PgUp, PgDn, Power buttons, but every laptop seems to have some compromise due to width limits.
Its got 16GB of DDR3 memory, which is double the RAM I had before so browser and databases should perform better. 4 core/8 thread gen 4 i7 feels much faster than what I had with the triple core system. Ive replaced the included drive with an SSD. Video is a Nvidia 850M, which is more than sufficient for my needs
Ports give me some 3x USB 3, one of which supposedly can provide power when turned off. Gigabit ethernet, HDMI and a mini Displayport if i ever have a need to connect a monitor for demos.

Nice! That’s a very impressive machine for 2015. It must have cost a fortune new.
Just throwing Ubuntu Mate on it
