One of the biggest "cultural" problems on Nostr is that it traditionally attracted people who think social media is The Great Satan.

So, everyone brags about how little they use it and criticizes people using it more heavily, even if those people are producers and not merely consumers.

But creating online content is like a part-time job or a serious hobby. You have to focus on it and do it regularly, and put effort in, in order to produce anything worth looking at, on a regular basis.

It's a skill that has to be practiced, until it's a habit.

It's work.

Those who produce rarely have time to write on any social media.

Writing a lot also is a form of consumption. What are they consuming? Others' attention, one of the most precious resources out there.

Guess it's sort of weird to be this enthusiastic about a communications protocol.

Most women don't even know what a communications protocol is and I'm all fangirling over it and getting excited about producing my own json files with cryptographic signature. LOL

I appreciate it because I don't have the time or energy to do it myself. Suddenly being introduced to your posts did make nostr more worth coming back to, you're not wrong. Normal women don't try to be interesting. They're interesting because they're women. The whole idea of a woman being interesting for anything other than being female is odd.

I don't understand how the world works and everyone gets to watch me stumble around in the dark, rambling on like an idiot, when everyone is just like, post your tits or some cute memes, and shut the fuck up.

Formulating words and enjoying it is a blessing! Nostr is not just a social media, right now we are able to connect with smart people all around the world. It’s beautiful right here right now. And there is so much coming. They’re here, stay and participate for a reason! With nostr we’re able to build something from the ground. Something to make communities and their goals meaningful again. I understand your enthusiasm!

I don't think it's odd to be interesting for the sake of it, female or not. I consider myself interesting and pursue my own interests and I wouldn't have it any other way. I suspect that you, like me, are an acquired taste. Well worth it to anyone willing to put some effort in, but probably too much flavour for the average Joe to bother. 😜 Embrace it 🐁
