Venerable George of Cernica, born in 1730, exemplified monastic devotion. As abbot, he transformed Cernica Monastery into a beacon of spiritual learning. His strict asceticism and dedication attracted numerous monks, reviving Romanian monasticism. Facing challenges, including imperial decrees and fires, he rebuilt and strengthened the monastery. Known for his wisdom and guidance, he taught obedience and humility. Even in advanced age, he remained dedicated to prayer and service.
