nostr:npub1mu9wmykl7qx5llk69axd3rvk0hzhdd25jsqtj2hmnzjpn2sxum6s8jjj0t weren't you working on a mostr bridge with someone recently?

Yes first you have to use the relay. Its in here https://soapbox.pub/blog/mostr-fediverse-nostr-bridge/

Then you have to use a server that hasn’t blocked the bridge.

I can find myself on Gleasonator but not Mastadon and im not sure why.

nostr:npub1hjqd7c5txmutgry52v2elknr5c5h4aju390hl0ha4rfu3fycvcnqg4eftt Id like to figure this out myself so if you want to work together let me know.

Ty for the info! I’ve been able to find myself on mastodon - and I was able to figure out posting from nostr > mastodon and mastodon > nostr - I think I’m understanding a little better how it works, it looks like I had to follow myself for the posts to detect nostr > mastodon, but mastodon > nostr has been working no issues I believe.

The way mastodon/activity.pub generates the pub keys is what’s been tripping me up too since I can’t find a direct way to link my primary nostr to my primary mastodon. There’s just 2 accounts on nostr and 2 on mastodon, no idea if there’s any way I can condense or merge the two easily - or if there’s any reason to. Still a lot I’m unsure of.

Ok so I think I got 2 fed accounts. Im trying to follow you. The gleasonator account says pending. Not sure why.

how were you able to follow yourself on Mastodon. I cant seem to find my Nostr account

Followed on Mastodon no problem.

I added the 3 recommended mostr.pub relays on nostr - after I followed those 3 relays, I noticed another account populating on Mastodon that was presumably my public nostr hex key @mostr.pub. Once I followed that account - it started populating the posts I made on nostr here to that public Mastodon account over there.

Unfollowing that account stopped the reposts, so I think adding the 3 relays populates the activity.pub feed where it shows your hex key @mostr.pub and following that account I’m assuming it knows to pull the feed from there.

Right now I think I have it setup how I want to - mastodon to nostr but not nostr to mastodon; that’s just a personal preference as I would easily get my feeds too confused lol and I find myself wanting to share mastodon outward and kind keep nostr it’s own bubble. The mastodon to nostr account ended up being ctrlxcvz_at_mastodon.social@mostr.pub on here.

Awesome. I didn’t know there were 3 Mostr.pub relays. I only saw 1 in the article.

Aside from wss://relay.mostr.pub what are the other 2

The 3 relays are:

wss://relay.mostr.pub

wss://relay.shitforce.one

wss://nostr.coinfundit.com

I think it has to do with adding those and then looking up your profile on mastodon, following it, and then that bridge should generate your posts from the desired nostr to that linked mastodon.

I wish there was a way to consolidate all these fedi accounts into one key, as my understanding this was just a real quick way to get a mass bridge working.

Sorry to circle back to this, but -

Here’s another interesting caveat, I don’t know how to sever the connection from nostr to mastodon if I wanted nostr to stop posting the feed to mastodon. I removed the relays and unfollowed myself, but I still see my hexkey@mostr.pub on mastodon relay the posts from nostr.

Can’t find any docs on how to stop the cross posting, unless i’m misunderstanding and you can’t. Fediverse stuff is bizarre to me still.

I appreciate you telling me these things. Im still learning myself and it’s helpful to have all the info I can. Feel free to keep me updated. There are other people im going to share this with.

LOL I still cant find my Nostr account on Mastodon. I’ll keep working on it. Fedi is weird. 😂

Idek how it generated my public hexkey @mostr.pub 😂 I added those relays, and since removed those and unfollowing myself but the posting persists lol.
