Government office isn’t some divine “moral immunity” card. Stealing from citizens with zero representation? Theft. Stealing to fund deranged military campaigns? Theft. Stealing to bribe rice farmers for growing nothing? Theft. Stealing to prop up death clinics? Homicidal theft. Stealing to research whether heroin makes ducks slutty? Theft. Stealing to gas up the thousand bulldozers burying our wealth in the Sallie Mae abyss? Theft.
Missing the grand larceny in all this is like standing chest deep in a tsunami, sensing merely “some moisture,” and bothering the lifeguard hauling you out to please “define moisture.”
