Are Apple's airpods superior in quality as compared to other similar type Bluetooth options? What are some other alternative cheaper options you may recommend?

i hate the airpod gen 2s (i might be in the minority here). the bose sport airbuds are bad too.
i would almost prefer the old old school airpods tbh
Which would be the old old school ones? Why do you not like the newer gen ones?
I have ones from Skullcandy, but can’t make any comparison, never had others 😊

Probably not cheaper but I highly recommend a pair of SAN Wear from SanSound on Twitter. One of the only “crypto” projects I actually support because the team is based and the product is top tier quality. Designed by the guy who made Beats & AirPods as well so the tech goes crazy. They are in ear MONITORS, not headphones or earbuds. 
Thank you! I just checked them out. And yeah they are definitely not cheaper but more like 2-4 x higher in price. Which is cool. Looks like great tech. Maybe I put them on my desired gift list since I just entered my birthday month :) though there's probably higher priority desires than these I'd happily receive them should somebody decide to surprise me ☺️🌹
I got the ones “recommended” by Amazon for less than $30. They work better than Apple’s in my experience.
