Is this something from the nostriga talk? I've not watched yet. But yeah there is a a certain mystique to the npub. Also signals 'something else'... Something...other. #xenostr 🥲

Rabble was using in the context of putting your magic nsec into other clients and having all your data appear, but there is a certain aesthetic of a magic npub string for referencing users. I still think nostr addresses and less magical and thats probably a good thing when referring to people.

shoulda been bech32m like taproot ... maybe we should just ignore the suffix ... is it used anywhere for anything ever? low-res qr codes?

We decided against it because it would have been a massive headache and the issue bech32m fixed was pretty minor
